This vital role provides smooth operations for the doctors they work with, and an accommodating environment for the best types of dental treatments and care. WHAT DO DENTAL PRACTICE MANAGERS DO?
Dental Practice Managers’ daily responsibilities include coordinating all support staff for the doctor, keeping the books, arranging dates of deliveries and appointments, overseeing all dental assistants and administrative staff, and more. Dental Practice Managers work with people both inside and outside of the office, and must be able to operate under deadlines for both employees and patients.
HOW MUCH DO DENTAL OFFICE MANAGERS MAKE?
According to the Bureau of Labor Statistics (BLS), office managers made a median income of $37.45/hour, or $77,890 a year in 2010.
WHAT ARE THE EDUCATION REQUIREMENTS?
In most areas around the country, only a high school diploma or a GED is required. However, to be placed into the right offices where upward mobility is possible, previous experience and proper training are almost mandatory. Working knowledge of a dental office and the abilities to order supplies, work with patients, and coordinate maintenance are key in this role.
